Rather Disappointing

We normally stay in Park Inn due to its good location, but this will likely be our last visit due to a ridiculous situation on the morning of our last day. Despite clearly having a do not disturb sign on the door, we had room service try to gain entry to our room from almost 8:30am onwards. We clearly explained on this first attempt that we are ok and did not require our room to be cleaned. This was ignored and four further attempts were made to access the room throughout the morning. To add to this, rather coincidentally we then had calls to our room phone on multiple occasions, where the call would last for just one ring before stopping. Leaving a less the ideal situation ahead of a long day of travelling.

The hotel was clean and the room was spacious and well equipped. The view from the room was incredible and the location is perfect to get around Berlin. I liked the fact there was a proper desk in the room. There wasn’t any proper air conditioning in my room which meant it was very hot when the sun was streaming in during the afternoon. I was able to open a window but I had been under the impression that there would be AC. I didn’t interact with a single member of staff (in person) during my stay. There was a self check-in station and I wasn’t eating breakfast. This didn’t bother me, but for someone who wants more of a personal touch, it might. My main issue with the room was that the sound proofing between rooms was not great. The rooms have hard floors which means sound carries (particularly from rooms above) and you can clearly hear conversations and chairs scraping back and forth along the floor. On one night, I had to call reception at 3AM to ask them to sort the noise issue. They were very helpful and after security spoke with the people upstairs, it was quiet. For my stay, I think it was very good value for money.
